About Us
Hello and welcome, my name is Marissa, founder of Immaculate Heart Apparel, and we’re so grateful you have taken the time to come check out our store! Below is a little story of how this all began.
Modesty in dress was not something I focused on for the majority of my life. I focused on quite the opposite actually. Even after converting to the Catholic faith, modesty in dress was not something I thought about or cared about. By the grace of God I am where I am today, to have realized the importance of modesty in dress and how dangerous immodest dress truly is, not only to the wearer but also to those who are scandalized because of it. In transitioning my wardrobe to more modest clothes, trying to find dresses that fit my criteria of modesty was always time consuming and seemed near impossible. Dresses were either too short, too revealing, too see through, and I’d stumble across clothing brands claiming to be “modest” when they were anything but. I knew there was a need for this and I was tired of not being able to find the clothes I wanted to wear, I even started to make skirts for myself and children, but with that comes a lot of time needed to be able to actually finish a piece after starting it ( I only finished one skirt..) Realizing the important need for truly modest clothing on the market that was also ethically made and easily accessible, Immaculate Heart Apparel was born. It was inspired to give honor to Our Lady, and Her message at Fatima, to combat the immodest dress that she warned us about and to be a solution for others who desired to dress more modestly and of course to create a brand that would please God. As Our Lady says, “Certain fashions will be introduced that will offend Our Lord very much.” After beginning the business I soon realized it was going to be too much to maintain on my own. Being a stay at home mom and wife to two kids at the time, starting a business was not something I was going to be able to manage. My priorities as a wife and mother took precedent and Immaculate Heart Apparel was tucked away. Though never forgetting about the business and the important mission started back at the beginning of 2023, it took until the end of 2024, while driving to Mass one day, to realize, that what if this was a calling all along and this was something we were always supposed to do, giving honor to Our Lady and glory to Our Lord. In the past, I wasn’t able to do it on my own, and gave up shortly after beginning. Now this time I’m not alone, and have the help of my family by my side, Immaculate Heart Apparel is now a family run business and we hope you’ll follow along on this journey and pray for us in this battle against immodest dress.
“In the end my Immaculate Heart will triumph.”
